How Does Counselling Work?

What is counselling?

Counselling is a conversation. You and I sit and talk through the issues you're facing. I use a range of professional skills, knowledge, and resources to support you to navigate your own pathway back to balanced, positive mental health.

Where do we meet?

My practice is located on a quiet acreage in Yackandandah (with spectacular views!) This means you’re in a natural, peaceful, calming environment, ideal for supporting improved mental health.

If access or transport is an issue for you we can easily make arrangements for an in-home visit or internet counselling. There may be a travel surcharge for this depending on location. When you get in contact we can organise counselling options for you.

What are your hours?

I'm very flexible with appointment timings and offer both daytime and evening appointments.  This means I should have a time available to ensure you don’t have to take time off work or away from other activities. Get in contact and we'll find a time that suits.

Are you part of Medicare?

My practice is not part of the Medicare system. I don’t require a doctor’s referral, and there are no lengthy waits for an appointment. Your first counselling session will usually be within just a few days of first contact.

What does it cost?

Each 1 hour counselling session costs $100.  This is one of the lowest rates in the region. For clients needing ongoing support beyond the usual 6-8 sessions I'm able to offer a reduced rate of $90 per 1 hour consultation.
