Helping you reach balanced, positive mental health
Hi, I'm Jules Millward
Jules Millward Counselling is my Yackandandah-based counselling practice. I focus on supporting you in dealing with the breadth of life's issues, using a wide range of proven counselling techniques and methodologies.
Counselling is a conversation. You and I sit and talk through issues you're facing. I use a range of professional skills, knowledge, and resources to support you to navigate your own pathway back to balanced, positive mental health.
My practice is located on a quiet acreage in Yackandandah (with spectacular views!) This means you're in a natural, peaceful, calming environment, ideal for supporting improved mental health.

How I can help you
Mental health can be complex. We humans are all unique, with our own personal histories, current challenges and future concerns. Some examples of what I'm able to support you in dealing with include (but are certainly not limited to):
Anxiety, depression, stress | Are you feeling constantly on edge, sad, or just plain flat and lacking "oomph"? Maybe you're constantly overreacting or catastrophising and don't know why. Perhaps you're getting no happiness out of what should be positive experiences. I can support you to tackle the myriad of ways in which anxiety, depression, and stress can present themselves. |
Grief and loss | Managing grief can become a struggle. If you're having a tough time resuming your normal routines or coping with a changed lifestyle, talking through your feelings will help. |
Parenting | If you're doing it tough with terrible twos, teens, or anything in between, then you are not alone. Perhaps you know the type of parent you want to be but are struggling to get there. I help you to identify the core of the issues you're facing and develop a plan of action to support an improved family life. |
Health issues | Problems with your health can strike at any time and sometimes present you with an altered lifestyle. I’m able to help you cope with a difficult diagnosis as well as managing the peaks and valleys of the treatment process. |
Coping with change | Life never stands still - significant changes through life are inevitable and making the most of both sudden and planned changes is something I can support you with. |
Separation and divorce | When you have to deal with the emotional, legal, financial or parenting issues that separation and divorce involve it can feel as though there's no light at the end of the tunnel. You might be having difficulty facing the everyday as a single not a couple. With the right approach we can work together to overcome these challenges. |
Phobias | Are your fears stopping you from leading the life you want? I can help you to overcome or cope with with your fight/flight/freeze responses so that you can move forward. |
Hoarding | When your possessions are being accumulated and not appreciated, or if you have to change your daily living habits to accommodate your possessions then it's time to take action. If you've developed negative feelings about the impact your possessions are having on your life but are struggling to make positive changes then I can support you through this process. |
Decision making | Struggling to make simple decisions about everyday life? Perhaps you're finding it difficult to work through a process for making major decisions. It could be you no longer trust your gut instinct or you're finding it difficult to justify the decisions you make. Maybe the outcomes of the decisions you're making are consistently negative. I can help you. |
